Cookie Policy

Effective date: 18 September 2026

Ignite Works sets no cookies. This page explains what that means, what happens instead, and why there is no consent banner on this site.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Cookies are how sites remember a logged-in session, how preferences persist between visits, and — when set by a third party — how behaviour is tracked from one site to another.

This site sets none

igniteworks.online sets no cookies of its own and allows no third party to set a cookie through it. In concrete terms, this site carries:

  • no analytics of any kind, and no measurement or attribution tool;
  • no advertising tags, conversion pixels or retargeting scripts;
  • no social media buttons, embedded posts, videos or comment widgets;
  • no live chat or support widget;
  • no A/B testing or personalisation tool;
  • no session identifier, because there is nothing to log in to;
  • no externally hosted fonts, stylesheets or JavaScript libraries.

We are not listing cookie names here because there are none to list. If you check with your browser's developer tools or with a cookie inspection extension, you should find the cookie store for this domain empty. We would rather you verified that than took our word for it.

Why there is no consent banner

Consent banners exist so that a site can ask permission before setting cookies that are not strictly necessary. This site sets no cookies at all, so there is nothing to ask permission for. A banner here would be making a statement that is not true, and would give you a choice that does not exist. Its absence is deliberate.

What happens instead

Two things happen that are worth knowing about, neither of which involves a cookie.

Server logs

The hosting provider that serves this site records an ordinary log entry for each request: the IP address, the browser's user agent string, the URL requested, the time, the response code and the referring URL if your browser sends one. These are kept for security and diagnostics, are not linked to anything else, and are covered in full in the Privacy Policy, including how long they are retained and the cross-border disclosure position under Australian Privacy Principle 8.

The site's own files

Your browser downloads this site's HTML, one stylesheet and one small JavaScript file, all served from this domain. The JavaScript opens and closes the navigation menu. It stores nothing, sends nothing anywhere, and is unminified so you can read it at /assets/main.js. Your browser may cache these files, which is ordinary browser behaviour and not a cookie.

No local storage, and no fingerprinting

This site uses no localStorage, no sessionStorage and no IndexedDB. It does not attempt to identify your browser or device by its characteristics — no canvas fingerprinting, no font enumeration, no measurement of your screen or hardware for identification purposes. Nothing about you is stored on your device by this site, and nothing about your device is measured to recognise you later.

Managing cookies in your browser anyway

Other sites will set cookies even though this one does not, and every major browser lets you control that. The settings are usually under privacy or site data, where you can view and delete stored cookies, block third-party cookies, block all cookies, or clear everything when you close the browser. Blocking all cookies will break sites that need them to keep you logged in; blocking third-party cookies is the common middle position. Your browser's own help pages are the accurate source for where these controls live in the version you are running.

Nothing you do there affects this site, which will work identically whatever your cookie settings are.

If this ever changes

We have no plan to add cookies to this site. If that changed, three things would happen before any cookie was set: this page would be updated to describe exactly what is set, by whom and for what; the Privacy Policy would be updated to match; and a working consent mechanism would be in place, so that non-essential cookies were set only after you agreed. The commitment is that the disclosure ships before the technology, not after it.
